Two figures entered with a majestic air, their presence radiating authority. Their eyes, varying in color, remained emotionless. A tiny dragon perched on the shoulder of one of them. The two young men who had just entered managed to capture the attention of everyone in the room.
"Welcome to the Dragon Dorm, the last two chosen ones," a man spoke up, his voice friendly and playful, welcoming the two newcomers.
"Raph, we should probably look at the list of this year's kids," said the female senior next to him when she noticed the man she was addressing giving the two young men a mischievous look. Everyone knew that when Raph made that look, he was probably up to no good again.
"Sure, sure... if the Lady of the Dorm wishes, I, Raph, will check immediately," the same senior male teased back, unable to mess with the two new juniors since they were interrupted, he turned to annoy his peers instead.
"Hey... you crazy," not to be outdone, the senior sister wielded a staff to chase after senior Raph, knowing well she hated being called the Lady of the Dorm.
"Let's not mind Raph and Ena for now. You'll get used to it eventually. Everyone has to witness this kind of scene often," another senior male spoke to the juniors with a smile, suggesting they should quickly get used to it since everyone in this dorm was a bit unusual.
"Let me introduce myself first. I'm Frank. The two chasing each other are Raph and Ena, and that one is Dela," senior Frank introduced himself, pointing out the two who were still chasing each other and another calm-looking senior female.
"We four are the guardians of this dorm. If you have any issues, feel free to consult us, whether it's about violating the dorm's rules or not, but not about money, because we're pretty broke ourselves," he added, eliciting a mental laugh from the juniors. Who would consult the guardians about breaking the rules?
"Oh... and the one thing we can't forget is the Dorm Head. But this year we don't have one because the last one just graduated. So, this year we are having a competition for a place on the Dragon Dorm Council!" Senior Frank announced, causing a buzz among the crowd.
"Really? Faeck graduated?" Senior Raph, who had stopped chasing with Ena, turned and asked in surprise, making the juniors twitch. Wasn't he supposed to know this as a guardian?
"Hey, why didn't I know about this?" exclaimed senior Ena, further eroding the juniors' trust in their guardians.
"You're always fighting like that. How can you two be dating?" Now Dela complained, but it wasn't unusual for these two not to know since Raph liked to skip meetings and Ena was often out fetching her boyfriend, with Raph attending less than five meetings a year.
"Shut up, Dela," senior Ena blushed deeply as she spoke before running over to her friend, while senior Raph could only cough awkwardly with a similarly flushed face, leaving the juniors puzzled. Was that how dating people behaved?
"Let's check your names," Senior Raph changed the subject quickly, urging Frank to lean down and look at the documents he held.
Thump... A hand slapped onto a shoulder, causing the sweet-faced young man to turn confrontationally, only to pause when he saw a familiar face behind him.
"Kyre...!"
"Hey, thought we wouldn't be in the same dorm, huh?" His good friend spoke up and flashed a smile. The sea-green eyes sparkled, pleased, starting to sense that life at school might just be a bit more fun with his friend around.
"This year, it feels like we have very few people," Frank commented as he looked at the list of students who had been placed in the Dragon Dorm from the document in his hand.
"Frank, are there only three girls, right?" Senior Ena asked, causing the queried to nod and sigh. The number of female students this year was dishearteningly low as usual.
"Luckily for this year, there will be one room where two people can sleep because the rest didn't qualify to enter our dorm, leaving one spot open," Senior Raph, who had been sneakily reading the report, chimed in happily before continuing with a sigh,
"But it's a pity there are so few girls and who knows if they'll be as tough as the previous generations." Ah... there goes his indiscretion without consideration.
"Alright, juniors, listen to us explain the rules first," Senior Frank interjected when he noticed several women beginning to show the urge to throttle their foul mouth friend. He might think the same but saw no need to voice it aloud.
"The rules are..." The four seniors took turns explaining the long and detailed rules, astonishingly remembered by all, especially Senior Raph who recited more rules than the others. Obviously, he would remember since he had broken every single one of them.
"Finally, three days before school starts, go shopping, and then let's meet here on the first day of term, okay?" Senior Dela's words did not change the expression on Teshia's face one bit.
Boring... Teshia thought, as he had no intention of stuffing his head with those numerous rules.
But thinking of the tall, silver-haired figure who had entered the room with him, a cool smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.
Interesting!!!
