Chapter 6
Liu Yi You's face darkened as she turned towards the stoic, emotionless woman.
"Tong Tian, go drag Grandfather Three back here," the girl ordered, frowning with evident irritation on her face.
Liu Tan reached the city gate and summoned the flying ship, then turned to scoop up the little girl to board the flying ship.
But… there was only an empty void.
Where is Seventeen?
Liu Tan's face darkened, and before they even got anywhere, they were separated. How were they supposed to travel to the Mei Guo continent now? Liu Tan, in his young man's form, stowed the flying ship, intending to go back into the city to look for Liu Yi You again.
"Hey!"
As he turned, the stoic-faced woman appeared silently. Liu Tan repeatedly patted his chest, about to complain, but the stoic-faced woman didn't give him a chance to speak or complain about anything. The beautiful woman both dragged and pulled the young man along the pathway.
"Wait a moment, sister-in-law!!"
It did not work…
Tong Tian didn’t listen to a word Liu Tan said. She merely followed Liu Yi You's order and swiftly dragged Liu Tan along. With Tong Tian's speed, Liu Tan could hardly keep up, so soon he was indeed being dragged along.
A young man was being pulled along the ground by a beautiful woman at high speed. Liu Tan no longer made any noise and just let Tong Tian pull him effortlessly.
How could he resist? Even if he protested to death, this woman would not compromise. And his previous suspicion that she might have some remnants of a heart was definitively answered; she truly had no heart.
By the time they arrived at the corner where Liu Yi You was waiting, Liu Tan was in a bad state. At this point, Liu Tan looked more like a beggar, with disheveled hair and dusty clothes. As soon as Tong Tian brought Liu Tan, she released him and then stood motionless.
It was as if she had not been involved in any activity at all.
Young Liu Tan, having picked himself up, quickly tidied his appearance to look as imposing as usual, then approached the girl. It was then that he noticed a small figure lying on a thick blanket on the ground, not far from a muscular young man standing frozen in a pose as if about to hit something.
He frowned. "Seventeen, what happened?"
The girl pointed at the young man whose body had patches of ice, "This man beat a child nearly to death," said Liu Yi You.
Grandfather Three sat down on the ground, grabbed the boy's wrist, and sighed, "Have you treated him?"
The girl nodded once, "Yes."
"Let's go see your big brother," Liu Tan said, then picked up the little boy, turned to Liu Yi You, and commanded, "Don't forget to drag that one along too."
Liu Yi You followed Grandfather Three's gaze and nodded in agreement, "Yes."
Sure enough, it would be Tong Tian who had to carry...
Since Liu Tan was dragged here by Tong Tian, they had been surrounded by many onlookers for a while. These people didn't know what was happening. They just saw a young man carrying a little boy, a girl running after them, and a beautiful woman effortlessly carrying another young man with one hand following closely behind.
Liu Tan glanced at Tong Tian, still unable to comprehend the behavior of this woman.
Why did she drag him when she brought him here, but carry the criminal?
The little boy was taken to the brewery. They waited for the child to regain consciousness before starting to talk.
The boy looked distrustful of people, utterly cold to the core and cautious all the time. However, as soon as he saw Liu Yi You, a fellow child, he seemed to relax a bit.
Liu Yi You didn’t immediately question the boy. Instead, she placed a bowl of fragrant porridge in front of him.
The boy looked left and right, “Can I eat this?”
The girl nodded, “Yes, go ahead and eat.”
The boy hesitated for a moment, then decided to spoon some porridge into his mouth. After that, he quickly scooped up the porridge despite it being very hot.
Liu Yi You’s mouth hung open, “Isn’t it hot?”
“It is.”
“If it is then why don’t you blow the heat out first? Aren’t you scalding your mouth?”
“I’m hungry.”
“….”
Liu Yi You ran out of words. She walked over and placed another bowl of porridge in front of the boy.
Initially, she thought a small bowl of porridge would be enough for such a tiny child. She didn’t expect that it wouldn’t be sufficient. The boy glanced at Liu Yi You once.
“Can I eat more?” His demeanor was still cold.
Liu Yi You nodded, “If you’re hungry, eat.”
This time, unlike before, the boy blew on the porridge before eating.
Liu Yi You watched the little boy eat and couldn’t help but think about what this child must have gone through to behave like this, even not caring about scalding his mouth with hot porridge.
Thinking about the hot porridge that scalds the mouth, Liu Yi You flicked her tongue out once.
Just the thought made her tongue swell.
“Little girl, has that child woken up yet?” Grandfather Three strutted in.
Both children turned towards the sound. Liu Yi You nodded once, “Yes.”
“What’s your name?”
“…” The boy looked at the young man with wary eyes.
"What is your name?" Liu Yi You asked.
The boy shook his head.
"What about your parents?"
The boy shook his head again.
"Your home?"
The boy continued to shake his head.
"Ugh!" Liu Yi You ruffled her hair in frustration, her hair becoming disheveled as she sat helplessly staring at the boy, amidst the laughter of Elder Three.
Finally, Liu Yi You walked outside to the back of the brewery where the young man encased in ice was located. She took out Mao Tong and said, "Melt him for me."
Mao Tong, munching on a blue plum, looked displeased but didn't say anything. It quickly breathed fire onto the young man.
The young man's body slumped to the ground as it thawed.
Seeing this, Mao Tong returned to its fish tank, indifferent to anything else.
The young man lay on the ground, charred. Liu Yi You fed him a pellet of medicine. When he revived, she didn't care what would become of him. People who would harm a child like that, she felt no sympathy for them whatsoever.
But it turned out this child didn’t even know who his parents were. The young man, heavily drunk, had seen the small child and became irritated, so he beat the child.
Liu Yi You's face darkened. Just like that, he beat a child?
Given this, the girl agreed with Grandfather Three that they would ask around Xiang Ping City in the morning to try to find the boy's origins.
However, when it came time to ask, no one knew who the boy was. Liu Tan then suggested sending the little boy to the Liu family to be a playmate for Xiao Ming, so the two children could grow up together.
But Liu Yi You feared issues of favoritism, so she suggested leaving him with Liu Lu Zhou.
After agreeing on these arrangements, Liu Yi You was ready to continue her journey. However, the three-year-old boy grabbed her arm and wouldn't let go.
