    Chapter 7

Liu Yi You turned to look at the boy, slightly smaller than her.

    "Little one, let go!"

The boy stared at her intently, showing no signs of letting go.

"Le Yian," the boy uttered two phrases.

    ???

Liu Yi You tilted her head in a cute manner but internally, she was evaluating all possibilities.

Normally, a three-year-old can speak, but most can't fully articulate their own history; it's not unusual. But suddenly grabbing her arm without letting go and then speaking a name like this suggested to her that the boy might have some cognitive issues.

"Is your name Le Yian?" Liu Yi You tilted her head and asked.

The boy nodded once but said nothing else.

The girl pouted. "Why didn’t you say something before?" She tried to pull her hand away, but the boy wouldn't let go.

"I will go with you." he said simply, yet very meaningfully.

The girl smirked immediately, thinking of her brother and also of Liu Yi You and Liu Yu Gou when they were young. She absolutely would not embark on a journey with such a small child, which would certainly indicate she had lost her mind if she agreed.

If she let him go with her, it would mean that her brain must be malfunctioning.

The little hand was still clutching tightly. Any other seven-year-old girl might not manage to free herself from the boy's grip, but Liu Yi You was different. Even as a young girl, the Qi power within her was formidable. So, she simply released a chill, and the boy's small hand could no longer hold onto her arm.

The boy jolted and quickly let go.

Liu Yi You, feeling a bit sorry for him, lifted her hand to pat the boy's head and said,

"I have matters to attend to far away. When I return, I'll take you back to the Liu family. For now, stay with my big brother." Having said that, Liu Yi You didn't spare him another glance.

She led Tong Tian and Grandfather Three out of the city.

Le Yian was not Xiao Meng. If it were Xiao Meng, Liu Yi You would not do this. This was the bias between her real brother and a child she had just met for a day.

The boy looked like he wanted to run after her but was held back by Liu Lu Zhou.

"If you want to follow her, grow up fast. She'll come back, and by then no one can stop you from following her," the young man told the boy, who then calmed down and stopped struggling.

Liu Lu Zhou had no idea how much trouble his words, meant to placate a child, would cause Liu Yi You in the future.

As for Liu Yi You, once she reached the outskirts of the city, she hurried on her journey.

She had been delayed too much already. As soon as they reached the city gates, Liu Tan quickly summoned his airship and flew north over Xiang Ping city, bypassing the familiar Hundred Arts Academy.

Mei Guo, the western continent where Liu Yi You lived, was northwest of Qing Yun, where she was headed. Liu Yi You had studied maps long ago, so she was sure not to lose her way.

"That way, Grandfather Three, the book says if we keep going this way, we'll reach the sea."

Not many people dislike the sea, and she wasn't among them.

She liked the sea but had never had the chance to go because of several factors, including her physical condition in her previous life. So, ever since her teacher allowed her to travel, she imagined what the coastal boundary between continents would be like.

During this moment, the young girl was quite excited, barely able to contain herself, she eagerly scanned the area with great anticipation. But as she scanned ahead, she encountered only a deep abyss, unable to detect any mass of water, which caused her to furrow her brow.

"I got it!" Liu Tan glanced at the little girl who was incessantly giving orders.

He had traveled across continents before, so of course, he knew.

Normally, Liu Yi You wasn't fussy, but perhaps due to her excitement, she couldn't stay still. She incessantly gave directions.

"Grandfather, why is there no water in the sea?" Liu Yi You asked while only high mountains were visible ahead, not even a glimpse of the sea.

The young man frowned, "Water? What water?"

Liu Yi You looked at her grandfather as if he were a bizarre creature, her expression one of disbelief.

    "The sea, Grandfather."

She imagined the old world where seas were the barriers between continents—something everyone knew.

In the books she had read, the continents of this world were also separated by seas, but it seemed as if the continents were placed far apart by someone’s hand.

    "And which seas have water?"

If a sea has no water, then what does it have?

Her small face marked with a question, she slowly tilted her head, her eyebrows furrowing closer together. Liu Tan also frowned, scratching his head gruffly, his face also marked with a question.

She knew so much about everything else, but not about the sea.

"If there's no water, then what’s there?"

"It's filled with Qi energy. All the beasts originate from here," Liu Tan looked ahead.

Liu Yi You already knew that beasts originated from somewhere, but she understood that seas should contain water. Why didn't the book clarify that it was a sea of Qi?

Soon, the vast Qi Sea that stretched beyond the horizon appeared.

"Grandfather, have you ever been to Mei Guo?" Liu Yi You asked.

"I have, a long time ago," Liu Tan said, his gaze drifting far away as if he was reminiscing about something.

Seeing this, Liu Yi You dared not ask any further, allowing the other to dwell in his thoughts while she focused intently on scanning the area.

But all she could scan was emptiness.

    Nothing at all.

The two continued their journey in this manner.

Whenever they encountered beasts, she captured them all for food. The beasts in this area were larger than those on the continents, and importantly, most of them had wings. She slightly wondered how those beasts that couldn’t fly survived.

But two months later, she found her answer when the abyss was no longer an abyss, but a landmass resembling an island appeared.

Liu Yi You and Liu Tan had no intention of staying around this area and moved on.

However, when they passed an area with unusual medicinal herbs, Liu Yi You couldn’t just overlook it.

"Grandfather, let’s stop for a moment," the girl said.

Xiao Gui was taken out of the aquarium, nearly collecting every valuable herb on the island.

Once they had what they needed, Liu Yi You was ready to leave.

"You naughty child, think you can escape this time?"

The whole island shook violently. Xiao Gui, who was about to return to the Badao Palace, quickly retracted into his shell and then slowly poked his head out a little.

    He smiled dryly, looking helpless.

    "Grandpa…"
