Chapter 1

As the Gods Decree

Ingfah found herself in a state where her body had transformed into a translucent spirit. She was standing, floating amidst the night sky, aglow with a myriad of twinkling stars.

Yes! She was indeed hovering in the heavens. Even though she was now without a corporeal form, she still felt a sense of vertigo due to the sheer height. Looking downward, she couldn’t see where the vast expanse below her ended.

"What in the world! Why is it so terrifyingly high up here?!”

Shortly thereafter, a woman in a long purple dress descended from above. The enigmatic young woman then floated directly in front of her. With a snap of her slender fingers, which produced a loud pop, two chairs and a table appeared between Ingfah and the mysterious woman.

"Take a seat, Ingfah. Don’t be so tense, haha."

"Your laughter sounds quite forced," Ingfah rolled her eyes upwards.

"Ah! It must be your sharp tongue that’s left you unwed."

"May I ask who you are? And where is this place? It certainly doesn’t look like heaven."

"And haven’t you considered that you might end up in hell?"

"Not in the slightest," Ingfah shrugged.

The woman in the purple dress massaged her temples, clearly annoyed.

"I am the God of Dimensions. I regret to inform you that you, Miss Ingfah, have died."

"Why did I die? My death seems so unnatural. I need to know the reason."

"I can’t tell you."

Ingfah stared. Stared and stared more!

"I can’t tell you."

Ingfah stared with a chilling gaze.

"I-I really can't tell."

The God of Dimensions broke into a cold sweat at the thought of the cause of death.

Well… She had a dispute with her husband. Opps! She overextended her powers in a test with her husband, resulting in casualties in another world, with Ingfah being one of those who died as a consequence. She then apologized and made amends by relocating the unlucky souls to another dimension. They had to start a new, ordinary life in the new world. As for the old one—they had already died there, so nothing could be changed anymore.

"It’s my fault, so I will relocate you to another dimension that has a culture and language similar to this one."

"No, I want to stay in my own world. Can’t you just put my spirit back into my original body?"

"Your body has already been cremated."

"What the heck!"

"My bank account had hundreds of millions!" At this point, Ingfah completely lost her composure.

"I went through so much trouble earning that money, and I didn’t get to spend a single dime. And think about my other properties. Do you know how hard it was for me to get there? Waaah!!!!!!!!!!!"

"That’s why I’m sitting here talking to you, Miss Ingfah. Keep calm, let it go. Let's start anew," the god felt a bit guilty but still managing a smile. After all, the new world she would take her to wasn't bad at all—better than a zombie-infested world, anyway.

After a long period of venting her emotions, Ingfah finally began to come to terms with her situation.

"Which world are you sending me to? Is there any war there? I'd prefer a peaceful one without any wars."

"There are no wars during the time you will be there. Do you remember what book you were reading?"

Ingfah pondered. "Um… it was a novel, 'Master of the Seas'."

"Do you remember who the villainess in the novel is?"

Ingfah nodded and said, "Manfah."

As soon as Ingfah mentioned the name Manfah, she had an inkling.

"It couldn’t be…," just as she suspected, right?

"You will be Manfah," the God of Dimensions smiled sweetly at Ingfah.

"And why must I be the villainess!!!"

"It just so happens that the timing is perfect, perfectly so, haha."

Another forced laugh. Ingfah sighed, "With my luck, I suppose my ending won’t be a happy one."

The beautiful god shook her head, "Your life is what you make of it. You don’t have to follow the storyline."

"I don’t have to follow the storyline? Really? Don’t lie to me, okay?"

"Yes."

Ingfah breathed a sigh of relief, "That’s a bit better. Not too bad."

"But I think you’re even worse than Manfah, haha."

The God of Dimensions continued, "That’s a compliment. You are craftier than the real Manfah."

Didn’t feel like a compliment at all. That was clearly an insult.

"What about the real Manfah?" Ingfah was very curious.

"As for her story, it’s better not to know."

"Did you cause her death?"

"Not exactly. You will be born in another temporal rift. That’s the Manfah who truly died naturally. The Manfah you read about is from a different time."

"This sounds so strange. Why do I feel like this novel came at just the right time?"

"Ah! Many coincidences might be due to some agreement."

"There must be more to it."

"You’re staring at me but I can’t tell you. Supernatural events beyond imagination often occur unknowingly, even I didn’t expect this accident to escalate this much. Maybe something caused it to happen."

"Don’t shirk responsibility. You can’t blame fate when it’s your own doing that caused others' deaths."

"I’m not shirking responsibility. It seems you don’t believe in fate."

Ingfah shrugged, "Just after money. I hardly have friends, only business associates."

"No wonder you’ve been single for so long."

"No need to keep mentioning it," Ingfah frowned.

"But the world there is somewhat backward. The governance is still feudal. Even though there are more foreigners doing business with Siam and it has Thai language and culture, it’s still complicated. There’s no internet, but at least there are flush toilets."

"Yes, it’s the era of flush toilets, but your home still has a pit latrine."

"What!" Ingfah slumped in despair. No flush toilet!

"Don’t be disheartened, Miss Ingfah. Tell me what you want."

"Then, make sure my house has a flush toilet. No, a proper bathroom, one that's durable and very beautiful."

"Granted, I accept this request. Next?"

"I want my face to be Ingfah’s—just like this."

"But Manfah is already very beautiful."

"I’ve spent a lot to look like this, and I really like my face."

"Ah, um, okay, I accept this request. But won’t it look too stunning?"

"Not at all! I like things that stand out!"

"Okay, anything else?"

"This one is tricky. God, during which period are you sending me to be reborn?"

"When you were a child, at the age of 12."

"What does my family do?"

"They were farmers, but by the time you get there, they’ll have already passed away."

"Another orphan life, huh? Never mind.”

Actually, that might make things easier.

"Don’t tell me it’s when Manfa’s grandfather will take me to the capital of Siam."

"Yes, but that will happen a month later."

"Life as a gardener isn’t too bad. I've lived in the city my whole life, but the problem is I don’t know how to garden."

The god smiled immediately, "Then how about I give you a farming system too? You like playing farming games, right?"

"Is that possible?!!!" Ingfah's eyes sparkled.

"I am the God of Dimensions. A farming game system is quite simple for me."

"Let's go with that then."

"And... I have a favor to ask of you."

"Go ahead."

"Everyone in Khao Khiao Village is really adorable. I'd like you to help develop it there. I assure you, they really are lovely."

Ingfah looked surprised, "If I have the farming system, it won’t be hard."

The God of Dimensions smiled broadly, "It's time for you to go to your new world. See you again, Ingfah." With a snap of God of Dimensions’ fingers, Ingfah was transported to the new world immediately.

The God of Dimensions sighed, "I hope my younger brother won’t be too upset with me. He's quite the complainer. It's a bit earlier than planned, but it should be fine!"
