Chapter 26
Level 100
A week passed, and Sudlor had been living peacefully with her family all along.
Manfah, Phraya Decha Damrongsak, Somyot, and Grandpa Puang had all witnessed its bathroom routine throughout the week. It would dispose of its waste in the toilet and even flush afterward. Sudlor would bathe every day, turning on the faucet and soaking itself in the sink, then meticulously cleaning its fur until it gleamed before leaving the bathroom.
"That Sudlor is too smart!" That was what Grandpa Puang exclaimed.
Phraya Decha Damrongsak thought Sudlor's behavior was reminiscent of his niece, especially her vanity.
When it was hungry, it would flap its wings at the food bowl. During its free time, it would stroll through the garden, snacking on insects and worms. In the evenings, it would sit and watch dramas with Somyot. At bedtime, it would lie down in a woven basket with soft pillows. If the bed wasn't soft, it refused to sleep and would instead sleep on Manfah's bed. Manfah didn't mind if it slept with her, but Phraya Decha Damrongsak was against it, fearing it would become too attached to people. Day by day, Sudlor was living a comfortable life, growing healthier and more vibrant. Mafueang often played with it, offering treats and pampering it. Mafai also came to test Sudlor's intelligence, having heard his sister boast about it. He couldn't resist and had to see it for himself.
"This one acts like a boss," Mafai sneered.
"Haha, true. But I feel like it loves a luxurious life and showing off, just like Manfah," Mafueang said.
"Oh! That's right," Mafai agreed wholeheartedly, slapping his thigh.
Manfah, who had just come out of the garden, overheard them gossiping about her.
"You guys must be really free to gossip about me for so long."
"Well, it's worth gossiping about," Mafai said with a laugh.
"Why are you here today, Mafai? Aren't you going to play soccer?"
"It's because of Mafueang. She kept talking about Sudlor, so I had to come see it for myself."
"And how is it?" Manfah asked.
"Just like its owner."
Mafueang burst into laughter.
Manfah shrugged. "Some people just have it."
Mafueang asked, "Where are Phraya Decha Damrongsak and Uncle Somyot?"
Mafueang noticed they hadn't been around for a while.
"No idea. They left early this morning. Probably have some errands."
"Did they go back to the Capital of Siam?"
"Their clothes are still here, so they probably just went out," Manfah tilted her head, recalling the morning. Both seemed tense when they left, and she didn't dare ask too many questions.
"By the way, I've bought four more rai of land."
"What?!! Again!" Both exclaimed in unison.
"Yeah, want to come with me? I'm going to plant fruit seedlings rom the dimension in the soil."
"What are you planting?"
"Mainly durians and coconuts."
"....." Again?!
"Look at your faces. Well… you know, the Westerners and Chinese want to send a lot back to their homes."
"Couldn't compete with the Siamese people, huh? So they got you to plant more," Mafai added.
"Exactly. Sigh... They eat without worrying about their blood pressure."
"Complaining with a happy heart, you two-faced lady," Mafueang teased.
"No argument there, haha," Manfah laughed, clearly amused.
Almost all the land at the edge of the village belonged to her now.
The three kids went to the new farm Manfah had bought. It was next to Grandpa Puang's land, which had become a workers' quarters. All the workers were busy in the garden, so when they saw no one around, Manfah planted two rai of durians.
Mafai suggested. "Hey, Manfah, how about some jackfruit too?"
"Sure," Manfah agreed, accommodating the request. Besides that, she planted dwarf coconut trees, longans, and lychees. For vegetables, she planted eggplants, papayas, betel leaves, sesbania, gourds, neem, and tomatoes. The foreigners requested some, and some had to be replanted due to high demand.
Manfah asked the two, "Do you want anything else?"
"Not sure. This is good for now. If we think of anything, we'll sneak in and plant more later."
Ding! System: You have leveled up. You are now at level 100.
She had been stuck at level 99 since the other world, and finally, she leveled up!
Unlock reward: Water location in the dimension. You can now draw water from any location in the dimension without going through the system, just specify the water source, whether it's a regular well, an underground well, a pond, a waterfall, a river, a dam, or even the sea.
Manfah's mouth dropped open, her eyes nearly popping out.
"Isn't this a bit over the top? You saw I couldn't use it with rivers, dams, waterfalls, or the sea, so you just added it for show, didn't you?"
System: Please do not slander!
"......" Manfah thought, Seriously? Haha, I'm not generous enough to let others use the water in my dimension so easily.
Manfah looked at the next item.
Unlock: Interdimensional shop, cooking equipment, machinery, electrical appliances, weapons.
Manfah's eyes widened. Weapons too!
Mafueang nudged Manfah. "Manfah, what's going on? Why are you standing there with your mouth open?"
Mafai frowned. "Are you okay?"
Manfah snapped back to reality. "My system upgraded."
"What's an upgrade?" Mafai asked.
"It added new items. It's like a shop where you can buy and sell things. There are weapons for sale too."
Mafai's eyes widened. "Are there guns? Like rifles?"
"What for? Do you have the money? It's paid in real gold, just so you know," Manfah said.
"Tch! Everything's about money. Your system is as greedy as you are," Mafai grumbled.
Mafueang looked worried. "Isn't it dangerous, Manfah?"
"Not really. At least I can buy something for self-defense. There are electrical appliances too," Manfah explained.
Then she looked at the final unlocked reward.
Unlock: Potion recipes and exotic herbs from another world. This is... a bit too much.
System, I'd like to talk to the God of Dimensions. Can you contact her?
System: Unable to contact at this time.
Manfah: "..." Well, never mind then.
Manfah turned to Mafueang and Mafai. "Let's go to the market."
"Huh... are we going to Sister Prae's shop?" Mafueang's eyes sparkled; she wanted some cake.
"I'm going to buy twenty or thirty gold bars."
Manfah's casual attitude about buying gold as if she were buying snacks made Mafueang and Mafai fume.
"Show-off!"
Manfah looked puzzled. What’s with them? Aren’t they used to this by now?
The three youngsters went to the gold shop. Manfah actually bought thirty bars, leaving Mafueang and Mafai envious. The shop owner beamed with a smile.
"Thank you, Little Man. Come again, dear," the shop owner thought to herself. It's rare to have such good customers.
They went to a secluded spot, and when no one was looking, the gold vanished into the system. From one hundred and twenty bars, she now had one hundred and fifty.
She lost hundreds of thousands in cash, but it was necessary.
The three kids bought gold without getting robbed, but when they went to buy snacks and stroll around, they ended up being taken hostage. Manfah felt her luck was rather peculiar.
The three of them then headed to Praewa's cake shop. They saw Praewa working with John by her side.
"Wow! Sister Prae and Brother Jon seem to be quite the lovebirds," Manfah teased.
"Yeah, I bet we'll be going to their wedding soon," Mafueang giggled.
Mafai was surprised. "Huh... Is Sister Prae getting married?"
Praewa came out to meet the three of them. "Hold on! Manfah, Mafueang, you've confused Mafai with your teasing. I'm not getting married yet, not for a long time."
John, overhearing this, was displeased. "Praewa, you can't just leave me hanging like this."
"What nonsense are you talking about, John?"
"You've stolen my heart, so you have to take responsibility. You can't not marry me. I won't allow it."
The three kids felt a sweetness in the air that surpassed even the cakes in the shop. Mafueang whispered,
"I think Brother Jon's condition is getting worse. He's head over heels for Sister Praewa."
Mafai said, "Why do I feel like Brother Jon will end up like my dad in the future?"
Manfah asked, "How so?"
Mafai gave a wry smile. "Worshipping his wife like a goddess. Didn't you see how my dad dotes on my mom?"
Manfah thought, "My dad wasn't much different back in the day."
Praewa blushed, having heard the kids' conversation. Her eyes shot daggers at John, as if to say,
What’s with his cheesy talk? Why can’t he say those things when we’re alone? Why does he have to say it in front of the kids?!
The three kids ordered their cakes and went to sit at a table. Manfah drifted off into her thoughts again. Mafueang and Mafai immediately knew that Manfah was entering the system. Manfah explored the shop provided by the dimension. She was most interested in weapons. Manfah chose to buy a handgun, pepper spray, a dagger, and a taser.
Manfah's eyes caught on a tank. A tank? Wow! Do they think I'm going to start a world conquest or something? If I bought that, the world would definitely be in chaos.
Manfah continued to look at the electrical appliances. There were bread ovens, ice makers, refrigerators, microwaves, fans, air conditioners, and many more. It wasn't much different from her other world. In the additional section, the system had a touch-controlled toilet that was very tempting to buy.
The machinery was all industrial-grade stuff, with sky-high prices. The sauce production machine and glass bottle production machine were interesting. It seemed like she saw a good opportunity for the future.
"Hehe," Manfah's sinister laugh made Mafueang and Mafai shiver.
My friend is scarier than the debt collectors in our neighborhood!
