Chapter 4 Strange Behaviors (2)
After the morning classes, it was lunchtime. Lucy briskly walked to get her food tray and then separated herself from the cafeteria crowd. With every step she took, the boys would sneak glances her way and then try to distance themselves due to her notorious boy craziness. But sorry, whatâs the big deal? Even if Lucy had been obsessed with boys, her standards were high. Guys like them werenât worth a brief glance.
Lucy walked out of the cafeteria to find a secluded spot to eat alone quietly. In the past, she would have carried her tray over to the Crown Prince to ask if she could join him for lunch. But those days were over. As Lucy sat eating quietly, she heard footsteps approaching. Looking up, she saw two handsome men, the ones Lucy was quite infatuated with, the dynamic duo Ion-Dale.
As soon as the duo saw Lucy, Ion visibly panicked, his face paled, sweat broke out, and his body tensed. Dale, on the other hand, remained stoic but slowly backed away. What kind of reaction was that? Lucy lost her appetite immediately, gathered her spoon, and stood up with her food tray to leave. As she walked past Ion, he squeezed his eyes shut, holding his breath, while Dale stood stiff. The footsteps got closer!!... and then passed by. Ion opened his eyes, looking around before turning to see Lucy walking away indifferently. There were no jumps for hugs, no arm-linking, or...or self-groping. Dale was also looking in amazement.
"Hey, hey, Luciana... um, are you still with us? Like, you just walked past us without a word!!" Ion turned to speak with Dale.
"Seems like the fall was harder than we thought."
After lunch, rumors about Lucy spread like wildfire. Just Lucy paying attention in class was enough to stun everyone as if theyâd witnessed a miracle. If Lucy topped the midterms, wouldn't they be shocked to the point of foaming at the mouth?!
The afternoon was for physical education, and students had to change into their white round-neck PE shirts and dark blue shorts, which the former Lucy had never worn, preferring to skip class instead. She only attended PE occasionally, and even when she did, she still wore her regular school uniform! While Lucy was debating whether to wear the PE clothes or not, her eyes caught sight of the heroine's group praising Angela.
"Angie looks so good in the PE uniform, making all the boys' hearts skip a beat."
"Look at her skin, her figure, and she's also good at sports," Angela blushed and modestly responded,
"Thatâs an exaggeration. Everyone here is fit." Hah, irritating. Lucy began to understand why her past self tormented Angela because she was just so annoying. Lucy leaned against her locker, pondering. Actually, was there any need to be jealous of the heroine? Sheâs always been pure-hearted. But why was it so irksome? Maybe it was because she was supposed to be the villainess. Thatâs unfortunate. Sorry, Angela, for mistakenly thinking poorly of you when you've done nothing wrong. To feel guilty... Did you think Lucy would think that way? Being destined to play the villainess, she might as well embrace her role.
Good-looking, athletic... Huh, from today onwards, Lucy decided to outshine the heroine in everything. Not that the heroine was wrong in any way, not at all. Itâs just that her presence was bothersome, and there was nothing wrong with Lucy wanting to antagonize her since she was meant to be evil. Lucy opened her locker, and took out her PE uniform, the inside of the locker door had a mirror which reflected Lucy's beautiful face smirking slightly. Wanting to be the villainess? Sure, but not a foolish version. Hope you can keep up with my cunning, dear heroine!!
PE class is one of the exciting subjects because there was one day in a month randomly selected for which classes must pair up for PE. Whenever the King classroom was randomly selected to pair with the Pawn classroom, Lucy always attended, and today, the Pawn classroom was paired with the King classroom. As the girls walked into the field, the boys turned their heads, teasing them, especially Angela, who blushed under their teasing until the student council president intervened, threatening punishment if they didn't stop. Angela glanced at him as if to thank him, which led her friends to push her to talk to him, causing her embarrassment. She tried to stop her friends but didn't resist. Before Angela could talk to the president, a voice rang out,
"Hey, Lucy's also attending."
"If it's with this class, she'd come, wouldn't she?"
"But this time, she's wearing, uh, the PE uniform," the voice trailed off, making everyone turn to look at Lucy. If you ignored her personality and just observed, you'd find Lucy extremely beautiful, perhaps even more so than the heroine. Lucy's skin wasn't as fair as Angelaâs but had a lovely pinkish tone. What Lucy was most proud of, though, were her long, shapely legs and, importantly, her chest. Despite just being in high school, Lucy had a notably large bust, leading her to quietly label herself as âbeautiful and sexyâ. Lucy ignored everyone's stares and sat at the end of her class line.
Even though the student council president and the Crown Prince stood out prominently in front, Lucy didn't care to rush over as she used to. This was unusual! The president watched Lucy but before he could approach, the Crown Prince cut in front, walking towards her. Lucy observed the Crown Prince approach with a calm demeanor. The Crown Prince offered a sweet smile as usual,
"Lucy, are you still hurt from your injury?"
"Not at all, Your Highness, I am fully healed. Please extend my gratitude to His Majesty for his concern," Lucy responded. The Crown Prince was momentarily taken aback. Indeed, it was true that the King had asked after her, as the Crown Prince himself hadn't shown much concern about Luciana. But he often ambiguously made the former Lucy misunderstand his concern. Thanks to her past life's memories, Lucy could see through the facade the Crown Prince put up. Ah, a teenager, no matter how smart, couldn't outwit someone with the experience of a thirty-something like her. Her past-life career taught her how to read people, so it's no wonder Lucy could see through that facade this time around.
Before anything else could happen, the PE teacher arrived, causing the Crown Prince to retreat in confusion. Today, the teacher wanted to test physical fitness through three selected methods: a 50-meter sprint, 30-second sit-ups, and a pull-up test. The male students were excitedly guessing who would score higher between the student council president and the Crown Prince.
On the girls' side, many thought Angela would win, believing she was destined to be perfect. Lucy smirked slightly, itching to show who was truly meant to be perfect. Sorry, Angela, you can have the guys, but Lucy won't lose in anything else!! Since Lucy often skipped class, no one knew that she actually had high physical abilities. Lucy was very flexible because the Duke had sent her to ballet lessons since she was young, hoping his daughter would be like his late wife. It's a pity that as soon as she reached junior high school and encountered very handsome boys, she no longer had time for ballet. Lucy cracked her knuckles with a significant crack, thinking it might be time to take up ballet again.
