Command 3: The Demonic Advisor’s Granddaughter and the Junior Disciple
[Middle Section – Confrontation]
Hu Yunlang, from childhood to adulthood, had been hailed as a prodigy among prodigies. Born the third son of the Tiger family, a righteous faction household. Everyone thought he was great, and they praised him. With two equally exceptional elder brothers, fame, honor, and fortune flowed in endlessly. But behind those things were sweat, blood, flesh, tendons, and bones, which were the exchanges for them in excruciating pain.
No matter how much he tried, the little boy never received a loving gaze from his parents. Everyone who approached him did so seeking to exploit the small one for their own benefit.
This shaped him into who he was today—stubborn, rigid, and phlegmatic.
He walked out of the freezing cold family house, severing the relationship that had no ties to pull him back. He still remembered the favors he owed them, if there was a chance, he would surely repay them. He wandered and fought in the martial world like a mad dog for five winters. Hu Yunlang, the young master of the Hu family, turned to the demonic path.
During the disciple selection for the Ten Thousand Demons Palace, he encountered a petite girl with an extremely high internal energy. That pair of large eyes were bright. She sat on the lap of the supreme Lord of all demons... loved.
He immediately wanted to know… How strong must one be to receive love?
Only four days had passed since then, and the small girl and the warm household taught him that love is not something gained through strength. Strength is what one uses to protect love.
In the early morning of xiaoxue period, the weather was cold, and the first snowflakes had just settled on the ground the previous night. However, Hu Yunlang’s thick skin made him so resilient, so he hardly felt cold. Today’s morning, the round dining table was still filled with members of Dew Residence as usual.
Initially, it was quiet and lonely yet the warmth spread. Because he had learned some of the background of the grandfather and the granddaughter, he found nothing surprising about it.
“Senior Sister, your cooking is very delicious. It’s a blessing for my mouth.” It was he who talked and broke the silence. He still didn’t have a deep bond like the one that these grandfather and granddaughter shared with one another, so, whatever he thought, he must communicate for them to know.
He didn’t want to repeat the same mistakes of his former family.
“Then you must eat a lot, Big Brother Lang.” The one with a sweet, clear voice replied with a faint smile as she picked up a piece of stir-fried chicken with chili for him. With her sweet eyes, she glanced at the purple bruise at her junior disciple’s eye. She then mumbled, “That thuggish Lord.”
He heard her clearly as she scolded the one who had trained him to exhaustion the previous day. “I’ll prepare a compress for you later, Big Brother Lang.”
No one could match the courage of Senior Sister.
“Thank you, Senior Sister.”
At the dining table, small conversations intermingled with the sound of chopsticks clicking, soup being slurped, and the soft laughter. Before long, all the food was swept into the bellies of the three Dew Residence residents.
“The weather is getting colder. I’ll prepare new clothes for everyone. Please wear a thick cloak today, alright?” said the small girl. The well-being of the people of Dew Residence were all managed by her. Sometimes he wondered how this little body could manage to do that.
“Ning’er, is there anything you would like?” Master Advisor asked his granddaughter, reaching out a wrinkled hand to stoke Ning’ai’s round head.
“I’d like you to take a few days off, Grandfather. Would that be alright?” the small figure replied adorably.
“Haha, I’m afraid that may be a bit difficult.”
The grandfather and granddaughter spoke for a while. The elder then stood up, grabbing and wearing the thick fox fur cloak his granddaughter had strongly insisted he wear. Then, he quickly left Dew Residence. Meanwhile, the young tiger received a brown wolf fur cloak with fine texture from Senior Sister to wear and keep his body warm.
“Senior Sister Ning’er, please guide me today!” He eagerly and enthusiastically said.
“The sun isn’t hot, and it’s breezy. Big Brother Lang, go water the vegetable patch. When you return, I’ll prepare some snacks for you.” Ning’ai smiled as she said like how she did every day. Surely, this was the guidance of the senior sister. She certainly was worried for him.
“Yes.” Once he replied robustly eagerly, he dashed off toward ‘the vegetable patch.’
More than two ke passed as Hu Yunlang diligently watered the patch… well, to be accurate… his vegetables fields according to the kind guidance of the young senior sister. At first, he hadn’t understood it. But after seeing the area, which Senior Sister oversaw, and the fresh and lush internal energy infused vegetables, he realized he was so inexperienced.
He needed to work even harder!
“Oh! Isn’t this the Third Young Master of the Hu family?” The coarse, grating voice made him turn to look at the source of the sound, who stood outside the residence area in an unbothered manner.
They couldn’t enter because of the odd zone, which people thought it was from Internal Energy Will.
Hu Yunlang looked at those grown men with a stern look. “What business do you have here?”
“We wouldn’t dare. We’re just here to get a look at the disciple of Dew Residence. I hadn’t thought your master would have you farming like this. Tsk tsk. Is that old man so stingy with his techniques?” The newcomer said mockingly. They laughed, once after another, like a pack of barking and howling dogs.
Hu Yunlang squinted his sharp eyes, scanning them. He suppressed his emotions, and did not say a word. He kept thinking about his good Senior Sister who was calm and composed.
Master Advisor said that patience is one of the qualifications of a man!
“Hahaha! I didn’t expect him to teach his disciple to be mute.” The slender man still said persistently. It was clear that they came to this place to pick a fight with the disciple of Dew Residence’s man, since they knew that he would come out and water his nonsensical vegetable fields every morning.
They wanted to see just how capable Dew Residence was, the one that was the talk to the point that their senior and junior disciples knelt and begged to join.
If they couldn’t get inside... they had to lure them out.
"Ha. I heard your master is just a decrepit old Demonic Advisor. His martial skills are destroyed, leaving him nothing more than an ordinary, useless manikin. His reputation is used to intimidate others. Who knows if he’ll die today or tomorrow? Out of pity, the Lord gave him the last lodging before his death. Tsk, tsk, how pitiful," the man continued relentlessly. When he saw the bulging veins in the hand that held the watering can, he smiled satisfyingly. His fox-like, narrow-shaped eyes gleamed.
"Oh, and you have a Senior Sister too, don’t you? They say she hasn’t even reached the age for her hairpin ceremony, but her appearance is beautiful, and it caught the Lord’s eye. A flower with bruised petals may not be as fresh as before, but I’d love to admire it once. How fragrant it would be when a small body of a woman, who is soon to become a woman, cry beneath my body…?”
Thud!!!
The sound of a heavy punch meeting the muscles on the fox-like face echoed. Hu Yunlang could no longer remain calm. With just how the big man endured listening to him this much, it was already considered getting closer to being a Bodhisattva. This damned scum dared to insult his master, and thought to violate Senior sister, who was as pure as snow-white jade that existed for a thousand years.
He could not endure standing still for an ugly creature to dishonor them...,
even though he knew that there would be a punishment from Senior Sister waiting for him.
"You baby turtle!!! Hey! Take him down!!!" The voice that carried a hint of anger firmly declared. Six grown men ganged up on the big man, who stood firmly and gave them a menacing look.
Hu Yunlang didn’t move. He had internal energy of an early general level, which was above theirs, who were only at the late commander level. It was a single gap that had a huge difference. He might be at a disadvantage when it came to the matter of number. Never mind. How great a pack of stray dogs like them could be?
In the filthy martial world, they only competed in the matter of strength.
The first three victims lunged at the giant body without fearing for death. Heavy punches, which imbued with internal energy of late commander level, were enough to split a large rock into two. However, it couldn’t apply to the body of someone who practiced Kurama Technique. Just by leaving a scratch on it, it would be considered more than enough.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
The echoes were akin to throwing stones onto the steel floor. Hu Yunlang smiled ruthlessly. Hot punches were fairly thrown into their faces, one by one. The frustrations, which he kept from the time when he battled with the Lord of the Demons Palace, were all released.
"This is what you call a punch.” He said with a cold, deep voice. With his sharp eyes, he glanced at the three figures now sent flying.
There were seven of them, four remained, but they still refused to acknowledge their places. They drew their swords and fought. Hu Yunlang had no sharp object near him. There was one iron shovel at his waist. It fitted his hand, so he brought it out to defend.
Clang!
Who could have known that the tools from Dew Residence had become extraordinary in the past two months?
"Oh," Hu Yunlang exclaimed a word with satisfaction. His new weapon, not only did it help him loosen the soil for the trees easily, but it was also impressively durable.
Perfect!
With a swift, sweeping kick, the giant man sent them all sprawling to the ground. As the ancient texts mentioned, "Do not step over a fallen man." Even though he wasn’t a very good, virtuous man, he didn’t step over them, because of his roots in righteousness. Aargh!
But he would stomp on them once or twice to repay their arrogant words.
"STOP!!!!!"
