Yi You looked at the Great Elder and then at Grandfather Three. She did not fully understand the Liu family's system, but from what she heard, it seemed to be a family holding system.

In a family holding system, if siblings work together harmoniously, they thrive; but if not, it's like a few people carrying the burden of the entire family. When they can no longer bear it, the family collapses together.

She bit her lip, her hesitance catching Grandfather Three's attention.

"What is it, Seventeen?" Grandfather Three asked, gently stroking the head of the little girl who barely reached his waist.

"Great Elder, Grandpa Three, I'm not sure if I should speak about this... I mean, just about the family system," she hesitated.

The two elders raised their eyebrows, unable to resist a glance at each other before the Great Elder smiled kindly, encouraging her to speak.

Even the nonsensical words of a child often bring laughter.

Yi You took the liberty to climb onto the Great Elder’s chair.

Seeing this, the Great Elder lifted her onto his lap, but even then, she was only as tall as the table's edge and finally had to stand. She took a brush and a blank sheet of paper from the Great Elder's table and began to draw a diagram.

She then explained the family holding system.

Everyone in the family who needed resources had to work to earn points, which could be exchanged for desired items. Higher priced items cost more points.

Points could be earned in various ways: exchanging crystals, herbs, completing missions like hunting beasts, and using their parts could also earn points.

If someone wanted something, they just needed to create a mission in the family hall, specifying the exchange items. Each month, every family member would receive resources according to the work they had done.

This system also allowed outsiders to join.

The three adults in the room were impressed.

Is this really a five-year-old child?

The Great Elder looked at the small figure standing in front of him; it was a pity she could not activate even a single meridian point.

"Good, good, good," Grandfather Three repeated, unable to suppress his laughter. Why hadn’t they thought of such a system before?

The great families and many schools used this system; how else could they survive?

"Everyone must work. How can anyone just eat and sleep without contributing? Haha, Seventeen, how did you come up with this method?" Grandfather Three could not help but admire the little girl.

"I read it in the scriptorium, but I can’t remember which book it was or where it was located," the little girl chose to lie.

How could she explain that she got it from a novel she had once read?

Both elders raised their eyebrows in surprise, while Uncle Six quietly observed the little girl, his eyes sparkling. He had been working hard alongside his father, and this system could potentially bring him some help.

"Seventeen, you can read already?" It was the Great Elder who asked.

The reactions of the two elders and Uncle Six made her want to facepalm herself, but she simply gave them an awkward smile.

"Seventeen has been studying secretly from the books in the scriptorium," she admitted, now that she was caught.

That was better for her. She could now immerse herself in the library.

"Good, good, good! From now on, if you want to read in the library, just go. No need to clean the floors anymore; let the servants handle that. I had you do it before to prevent Second from finding reasons to throw you out. You understand that, right?”

As soon as the Great Elder said this, the young girl couldn't help but rejoice. From her seated position on his lap, she stood up to hug his neck.

“I understand," she replied, planting a big kiss on the Great Grandpa's cheek.

"Seventeen, come give me a kiss too," teased Grandpa Three, pretending to feel left out.

The girl climbed down from the Great Elder's lap, ran over, and playfully tugged on Grandfather Three's shirt, coaxing him to bend down for her hug.

Such adorable antics from the child brought laughter to everyone in the room.

Grandfather Five was brought to Grandfather Three's house, allowing Yi You to care for the elder both morning and evening.

Today, Grandfather Three was busy and not at home. Tomorrow was the day the two elders planned to attend an auction, so the young girl spent today quietly reading in the room.

    However…

"Stinky face, you replacing herbs with leaves to soak in alcohol for me—it's edible and all, but shouldn't you find some real herbs for me?" complained Khainui, who did nothing but eat and sleep all day.

"Wait until I get some money, then I'll buy some good herbs for you," the girl continued to read... or rather, skimmed through her book without paying much attention to the little worm.

"Why don't you grow them yourself? Why waste time buying?" Khainui climbed up the tea cup filled with liquor, dunked its face into it, and slurped loudly.

Soon the liquor in the cup was gone, and Khainui fell from the rim of the cup, sprawling out contentedly.

Yi You glanced at it before replying,

"I can plant them, but it's not like they will grow overnight. Everything takes time," then she returned to her reading.

"You don't know how to use the good stuff. Pour that liquor over the roots of the plants, and they'll grow right away," it said and then immediately started snoring.

Hearing this, Yi You couldn't sit still any longer. She hopped down from her chair and went straight to the herb garden.

Initially, she planned to pour the liquor at the base of Grandfather Three's herb plants, but thinking better of it, fearing someone might see and cause trouble, she decided to experiment differently. She took two seeds of the flame pomegranate, dug a small pot not too large, buried the seeds, and placed it in her bedroom.

She gave a disdainful pout at the worm, then poured the liquor into the pot.

As soon as the liquor touched the soil, two leaves sprouted from the seeds with visible speed. Even when she stopped pouring as the soil saturated, the plant didn't stop growing; it just kept growing…

    and kept growing…

    and kept growing…

The flame pomegranate grew so fast that the pot burst apart, its roots slowly creeping into the floor, soon cracking the floor as they grew deeper.

The disaster didn't end there; the tree grew through the roof.

Fortunately, it stopped growing once it reached its limit.

Relieved to see it stop, Yi You was about to think of an explanation for Grandfather Three when her eyes widened in horror.

Now she wanted to cry but had no tears left, seeing the flame pomegranate tree bloom and then quickly produce dozens of slow-growing fruits.

Slow, she thought sarcastically, as the fruits ripened in a single breath.

Ripe flame pomegranate fruits always sparkle with fire, safe if nothing is nearby. But now, these were ripening in the middle of her room, surrounded by curtains and wood—all excellent kindling.

    Oh shoot...
