In a room equipped with the most advanced computer technologies imaginable, there appeared a woman entwined with red dots and cables connecting her to a series of over twenty large monitors lined up side by side. Beside the bed were devices measuring blood pressure, a heart rate monitor, and several other medical devices including an oxygen machine. Notably, though one of her arms appeared normal, the other was thin and frail as if not belonging to the same person, evidently dysfunctional at a mere glance.

A young woman, the patient on the bed, watched people in gowns move about the room, their conversations echoing intermittently, before she uttered:"Start the process."

    Beep beep beep…

The beeping of the heart monitor filled the air continuously as she took a deep breath, on the brink of entering a new world.

    "Download process."

Her eyelids slowly closed, her pulse rapidly climbing, the last thing she heard before losing consciousness was…

    Beeppp…

Subsequently, everything turned as dark as a television unplugged.

Before this, she had made a deal with a game company to be a tester for entering a VR MMORPG system, with the simple thought that if she could live her life in the game, she would be able to use her limbs as she wished.

She longed to live a life she never had the chance to experience before—to run as others run, to walk as others walk, to step out of her confined room without needing a wheelchair or waiting for someone to push her out.

She wanted to escape from her old world into a world of dreams.

Although she was conscious, her eyelids refused to obey her brain's commands. She couldn't open her eyes as she wished, and the silence around her was absolute.

She had no idea how long she had to endure this state.

Finally, she was able to open her eyes.

Lifting her hands, she noticed that both were now of equal size, albeit smaller than they should be. Slowly, she pushed herself up from the bed to curiously explore her surroundings. It was a small house with furniture perfectly sized for a child to use independently, without needing help from anyone.

Is this the world within the game?

The girl glanced down at her feet.

Seeing her small, perfectly formed feet increased her excitement. Slowly, she placed her feet on the floor and stood up.

    Can I walk?

Excitedly, she walked around the room, her face bright with a beaming smile. After checking herself in the mirror, she realized she was now a cute five-year-old girl.

After ensuring she could walk steadily on her own, she slowly opened the door and saw several houses close by.

The girl furrowed her brow—she didn't remember that the game included houses like these. If she recalled the contract correctly, she was supposed to be an NPC providing information to game players, or perhaps because she was designed as a "Loli" NPC, she needed a house.

Thrilled to be able to move freely, she dismissed all other thoughts from her mind, choosing to walk faster and eventually began to run around, laughing loudly, attracting curious glances from those around her.

Being seen as crazy was the least of her concerns.

It wasn't long before the girl realized that this wasn't the game world as she had thought, but a completely unknown world.

She saw a seven-year-old girl sitting alone under a mulberry tree, tears streaming down her face, evoking pity in those who saw her.

"This kid, why is she still crying? She was only scolded a little and now she’s upset. Look at Seventeen, not even a mother to protect her, got called a scum, and yet she’s still smiling. You’re lucky you were born from my womb; otherwise, I'd let you go hungry for a meal or two," said a delicate finger, playfully poking her daughter's chubby cheek.

Liu Yi Ya watched as her mother looked at a five-year-old girl standing smiling amidst the mocking circle of several siblings.

"Motherless, motherless," the high-pitched voices of several children taunted her for being orphaned, yet the small girl just stood there smiling, unresponsive.

Who cares about having a mother when she now had fully functioning limbs? Just having this was enough to make her happier than anything else. Besides, these little children were just fond of teasing incessantly. How could she take offense when they were just a group of little kids?

Yes, even though her body was that of a child, her spirit was not diminished by her outward appearance.

Liu Yi You in the old world had been disabled, and after participating in the VR MMORPG game test, her consciousness, which had briefly faded, emerged in this unknown world. She found herself in the body of a five-year-old girl named Liu Yi You, her parents gone without a trace. Fortunately, her father's family took her in, though her living conditions were not the best.

But what did that matter? Just being non-disabled was already a significant improvement. What more could she want?

She had been here for a month now. Every day, she had to endure taunts from siblings who would not sleep soundly unless they had mocked her a couple of times.

Seeing her five-year-old sister being mocked, Liu Yi Ya couldn't help but feel sorry for her and ran to stand in front of her little sister to shield her.

"Do you guys have no zip to your lips? Seventeen is orphaned and considered worthless is already bad enough. Instead of sympathizing with her, you mock her?"

Yi You looked at Sixteen, who was trying to protect her, barely able to suppress a smile.

Was this really an attempt to defend her, or just a reminder of her flaws? But let it be, children are innocent.

She then smiled even more broadly before tugging at Yi Ya's shirt.

"Sixteen, don’t mind the kids. Don’t take it to heart," she said, then bent down to pick up several books that had scattered on the floor. She stacked them with difficulty and lifted them up.

Liu Yi Han swept the books she had just picked up back onto the floor.

"Ha! Ha! Orphan, orphan. Let's leave her alone today," they said, and led the other siblings away, satisfied with their day’s teasing.

Yi You could only shake her head. Children will be children, she thought, hoping they would learn better as they grew older. She didn't hold it against them, and stooped to pick up the books again.

"Seventeen, why do you let them tease you every day? Why not fight back?"

"Sixteen, they are still children, after all."

"But you are younger than them."

"It’s fine, just leave it, I’m old enough. Don’t worry. Come on, I will make some delicious snacks for us. How about that?" Tempting young children with treats usually brought them to a calm state.

But she wasn't so generous as to give treats to every child. She didn't have that much food to share. Just having enough food, clothes, and being able to take some ingredients from the kitchen to make snacks was enough.

Thus, only the well-behaved children would get a share of her treats.

The two girls walked side by side back to Yi You's house, which bore her name, and where she also resided.

Liu Yi You entered the house and picked up several pieces of sweets to put in a basket.

These were simple sweets called roasted sweet potato treats, made from sweet potatoes, corn, sugar, salt, and coconut milk.

Unable to find coconut milk, she assumed it was rare in this era and substituted it with fresh milk. Although not as flavorful as using coconut milk, for children who had never tasted it, it was still very delicious.

"Sixteen, take these sweets back to your house or Aunt might be worried," the young girl said, handing over the basket of sweet potato treats to her sister.

The girl nodded once and took the basket without hesitation.

"I'll be off then, Seventeen. See you tomorrow," she said, and without waiting for a reply, she turned and ran off quickly.

Yi You watched her sibling's retreating and smiled affectionately. She shook her head a few times and walked back into her house.

Inside her house, there was nothing but a bed, a chair, and a lamp.

For an orphan child to receive such care from the family is indeed very fortunate. She was allocated as much as any child of the family should receive. The difference was that other children had parents to look after them, so their portion could be extended to include their offspring. Other children in this family lived much more comfortably than her.

The small figure slumped into a chair before eagerly opening a book she had borrowed from Grandfather Three to read happily.

It’s true, she came to this world alone, but what accompanied her was a brain sharper than any human's.

A brain akin to a high-level computer, capable of analyzing events sharply, remembering things in an instant. Thus, while Yi You's reading might appear to others as merely flipping through the pages too quickly, as if the little girl could not read, in reality, she had finished the entire book and had even analyzed the content in an easily understandable and very precise manner.

Beyond that, she could also use her bare eyes to scan her body for abnormalities clearly and accurately, and could scan the area and examine substances.

This ability, Yi You had only experimented within the Liu family manor so far and had not had the chance to scan other places, thus only allowing her to easily map out the Liu family manor.

She knew exactly where the treasures were, but she had no intention of meddling with that area.

"Little Seventeen, may I come in?" a familiar voice called out in front of the door, pulling the young girl out of her reverie.

    Grandfather Three…

"Please come in, Grandfather Three. What brought you here?" Yi You looked at the old man with puzzled eyes.

"It's nothing much. Sixteen brought some sweets back to the house, and since I was there, I got to try one. It was quite delicious," the old man said, somewhat sheepishly, making her immediately understand the purpose of his visit, and Yi You’s eyes twinkled several times.

The old man was here to ask for sweets from a little girl…
