Chapter 9

Considering Buying a Shop in the Market

Mafueang, Mafai, and Aunt Kwan were all present. Then, Manfah explained her abilities and demonstrated the power of the dimension.

Mafueang and Mafai clapped loudly, repeatedly exclaiming...

"Amazing."

"That's awesome."

Meanwhile, Aunt Kwan fainted and collapsed. Uncle Phin, who had brought smelling salts from home, handed them to Aunt Kwan to revive her. He had even prepared the herbal remedies just in case.

"I-Is this for real?" Aunt Kwan exclaimed.

"Calm down, Kwan."

"I mean… Even though I was suspicious about why Little Man’s garden was producing such extraordinary results, I never imagined it would be this far beyond imagination. We should tell Phai about this, it's a big deal. Phai is the one who finds the workers."

Uncle Phin agreed that Uncle Pai should be informed for her safety. Manfah immediately agreed, knowing that her father's close friend would never harm her. Uncle Phin and Uncle Pai had always looked after and helped her. She felt that Uncle Pai must be quite an important person, though she wasn't sure exactly how important. But working with foreigners and having them as business partners certainly wasn't ordinary.

Uncle Pai was called over by Uncle Phin, quite puzzled. When he arrived, he asked what was going on. When Manfah revealed the secret of the dimension, Uncle Pai fainted, in even worse shape than Aunt Kwan. Uncle Pai's mental state was much more shaken than Aunt Kwan's.

Aunt Kwan handed Uncle Pai some smelling salts after he regained consciousness.

"I suspected something was off with Little Man’s garden, but I never imagined it would be this dangerous."

"That's why I told you, Uncle Pai."

"You should have told me earlier."

"Uncle Pai fainted even worse than Aunt Kwan."

Uncle Pai laughed awkwardly, "I couldn't quite grasp it at first. Hmm, I think I need to bring a six-wheel truck."

As soon as he recovered, money matters came to mind. "You told us because you want to unload things from the dimension, right?"

"Yes, there's a lot. Anyway, my garden needs to expand. I think I should tell everyone for my safety. I trust all of you. In this world, I only have Uncle Phin, Aunt Kwan, Uncle Pai, Grandpa Puang, Mafueang, and Mafai."

Everyone exchanged glances.

"Manfah, you’re important to us," Mafueang said.

Uncle Phin declared firmly, "The child of Pipop and Jitlada, I'll protect her myself."

Uncle Pai chuckled, "Trying to act cool, aren't you, Uncle Phin?"

"Haha, yeah, back in the day, Pipop was always the cool one, leaving me and you in the dust."

After that, everyone went their separate ways. Manfah and Grandpa Puang went to gather clothes and belongings from Grandpa Puang's house, arranging for him to move in with her today. Grandpa Puang handed her the deed from the cabinet, and Manfah stored it in the dimension. Seeing the deed disappear before his eyes, Grandpa Puang was startled. It's understandable; he's still not used to it.

After that, Grandpa Puang and Manfah sat down to discuss selling sun-dried pork. Manfah planned for Grandpa Puang to buy a shop in the market and manage it for her. They would need to hire someone to help sell and close the shop.

"In my dimension, I have many processing machines. Sun-dried pork is one of them."

"Do you want to sell other things too?"

"Ham, for example. But we need to buy a freezer from foreigners first."

"It might be expensive. Will it be worth it, Little Man?"

"But it lasts a long time. Tomorrow, let's go to the provincial city."

"I wouldn't be much help. Look at me; people in the city would look down on me. That's not all; they'd probably think I couldn't afford to buy anything from their shops."

"A twelve-year-old buying such expensive things wouldn't be possible either. Last time, when I went to buy clothes, I had to ask Teacher Jan to speak for me."

Grandpa Puang smiled wryly, thinking they might need to rely on Uncle Phin.

The next morning, Uncle Pai came to pick up her durians. Today, Uncle Pai arrived with two giant six-wheel trucks. Only the wealthy could afford them. These trucks seemed like they were modified from weapon transport trucks from her previous world. You'd need connections to buy them.

Manfah placed the baskets in the garden and lined them up. Grandpa Puang came to help as well. Manfah magically filled the baskets to the brim. When Uncle Pai saw her conjure the durians into the baskets, he grinned so widely it was almost comical.

Heh heh, it's obvious what Uncle Pai is thinking about.

It's all about money, money, and more money!

"From today onwards, I'll come to pick up the goods every day," Uncle Pai said.

Seeing the over two hundred baskets filled with durians, Uncle Pai called his workers from the front of the house to come and load them up. They were shocked by the sight of over two hundred baskets of durians.

How could one little girl manage this? Uncle Pai explained that he had workers help harvest every day and then pick them up in the morning. The workers then said, “Oh! That makes sense,” and so they didn’t suspect anything.

Manfah gave Uncle Pai a thumbs-up, and Uncle Pai winked back at her as a signal.

"In the past two days, my people have sold the durians very quickly. The Siamese people really love eating durians."

"I love them too, hehe."

"Not surprising, since you've planted them all over the garden. Uncle Phin mentioned you're planning to buy more land to plant even more?"

"Yes."

"Tomorrow, I'll take some vegetables too," Uncle Pai said, glancing at the vegetables in the garden.

"By the way, what vegetables do you have in your dimension?"

"A lot. What would you like, Uncle Pai?"

"You must have a lot, right?"

"Hehe, yes, a lot. We even have Western vegetables."

“Wow... then let's get potatoes, red radishes (carrots), tomatoes, sweet bell peppers... hmm...”

“Would you like broccoli too?”

“Yes.”

“It’s not the end of the year, but won't people be suspicious?”

“True, it's quite a hassle.”

“Then just those for now. Please have them ready by tomorrow. The Westerners want them; they must be missing home-cooked meals.” Sigh... such a shame about the broccoli. It would fetch a good price.

“I need more baskets too. We don't have enough.”

“Not enough? I'll go buy some more at the market. Let's get three hundred more baskets. Hehe.”

Seeing Manfah's mouth agape, Uncle Pai gently pushed her chin up to close it. “You're a funny kid. Just conjure them into the baskets; it's not hard for you.” Uncle Pai winked.

“True enough.” Uncle Pai seems to be having fun.

“Uncle Pai, you seem eager to spend money.”

“Many businesses are expanding. I have other ventures too. I need to keep the money flowing.”

“What kind of businesses do you have, Uncle Pai?”

“Hotels in the south, department stores in the Capital of Siam, and a few restaurants. Mostly in Siam and Hua Muk City.”

“Where is Hua Muk City?”

“It’s in Phannahong Province. It's by the sea, about six hours from our home by car, but a bit quicker by boat.”

The central region here is also by the sea, but it's not as beautiful as the south. It's similar to your old world, probably like Hua Hin.

“Why did you come here, Uncle Pai? Wouldn't it be more convenient to stay in the Capital of Siam?”

“True, it would be more convenient, but I love it here. This is my home. Uncle Phin and I want to help develop our hometown so that the farmers in our province can have enough to eat and not struggle.”

“You have such noble intentions. My father would be proud to have friends like Uncle Pai and Uncle Phin.”

“I don't know. If Pipop would let Uncle Phin and me help him a bit, things might be better. His life wouldn't be so difficult.”

“He's probably just being considerate. Maybe he doesn't want you both to face hardships because of my mother.”

Her grandfather is quite troublesome. He likes to misuse his power against her family!

“He probably loves your mother a lot. The more he loves, the more he acts like this. He probably wants your mother to feel regret for choosing your father. Your grandfather had already chosen a well-suited man for Miss Jitlada. He must be embarrassed because he had promised them.”

This is like a soap opera. But then again, she’s living in a novel world, so it's not surprising that things are like this.

“What if my grandfather comes? Do you think he'll take me to live in the Capital of Siam?”

“I don't know about that. I don't even know if he'll come. He hates my family, you know.”

“Hate or not, you're still his blood. He won’t let you live in hardship. You’re just a little girl all on your own. But if he comes, he’ll be completely shocked—his granddaughter’s not exactly ordinary, haha.”

“Haha, that's true. Being wealthy gives me the freedom to choose where I want to live.”

“Just like Pipop's daughter.”

“Uncle Pai, I'm planning to buy a shop in the market. I want to sell sun-dried pork and other things like ham. Do you know what ham is?”

“Of course, I do. I've had it before. Are you planning to sell it?” Uncle Pai's eyes lit up.

“You're not thinking of buying my ham, are you?”

“Oh, come on, I have a lot of businesses. Everything from your dimension is delicious.”

“Hehe. Well, alright then. I'll sell sausages, ham, and sun-dried pork at the market, with Grandpa Puang managing it.”

“You'll need a refrigerator and a freezer, won't you?”

“Yes.”

“Alright, I'll take care of it for you.”

“Great. Then I won't have to bother Uncle Phin.”
